What determines which insecticides are used in our landscapes?

The types and amounts of pesticides (insecticides, fungicides, herbicides) used in our crops and landscapes are determined by many different factors.  Our SESYNC working group discussed these in our recent paper, "Pesticides and pollinators: a sociological synthesis".  The paper is open access, so you can download it directly.
